Phil Smith
Smith served in the Iowa State government for over 25 years, most recently as the Director of the Iowa Office for State-Federal Relations in Washington, D.C. where his duties included assisting state agencies, legislators and other elected officials on federal public policy matters; serving as a liaison to the Iowa Congressional delegation, Administration officials, public interest groups, and business and industry officials. Since establishing his public affairs practice, Smith has provided policy support on matters pertaining to information technology, Medicaid, pharmaceutical programs, heath care, and workforce development. He is also active in several associations, including the National Governors Association, the Republican Governors Association, the Democratic Governors Association, the Federation of Tax Administrators and the National Association of State Budget Officers.
